Woori Financial Group Inc., established on March 27, 2001, is the first financial holding company in Korea and started operations on April 2, 2001. Woori Financial Holdings Limited was created under the Financial Holding Company Regulations that came into effect in October 2000, which, together with relevant rules and presidential decrees, enables banks and other financial institutions (including insurance companies, investment credit companies, credit card companies and securities companies) to organize and be regulated under the name of a financial holding company. The main business organization includes one of the largest commercial banks in Korea (assessed in terms of total assets). Subsidiaries are concentrated in various businesses, including commercial banking, credit cards, capital market activities, international banking, asset management and bancassurance. The company provides a variety of products and services to individuals, SMEs and the largest businesses in Korea.
