Provident Financial Holdings, Inc., a Delaware corporation, was established in January 1996 to become the holding company for savings banks after the savings bank was transformed from Federal Mutual Bank to Federal Equity Savings Bank. Founded in 1956, the Bank is a federally chartered stock savings bank headquartered in Riverside, California. The bank is a financial services company serving consumers and small and medium-sized businesses in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. The Bank conducts its business as a Provident Fund Bank and conducts its business through its subsidiary Provident Fund Corporation. The Bank's business activities include community banking, investment services and trustee services for real estate transactions. The Bank's community banking business primarily consists of accepting deposits from customers in the communities surrounding its full-service offices and investing these funds in single-family, multi-family, commercial real estate, construction, commercial enterprise, consumer and other mortgage loans.
