Vector Group Ltd., a Delaware holding company primarily engaged in the manufacture and sale of cigarettes in the United States, seeks additional operating companies and real estate businesses through subsidiaries of Liggett Group and Victor Tobacco Co., Ltd., and through affiliates of New Canyon LLC. New Canyon owns 50% of Douglas Elliman Real Estate LLC and operates the largest residential brokerage in the New York metropolitan area. Liggett is the operational successor of Liggett & Myers Tobacco. The company was founded in 1873. In April 2002, the company acquired Medallion, a discount cigarette manufacturer primarily under the brand name in the United States that sells products in the deep discount category. Victor Tobacco merged into Medallion, then changed its name to Vector Tobacco Holdings.
