REX American Resources Corporation was founded in Delaware in 1984, and successfully controlled three branches of Rex Broadcasting and Television Co., Ltd., which was established in 1980, Stereo Town Co., Ltd., which was established in 1981, and Kelly & Cohen Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd., which was established in 1983. Historically, the company has been a specialty retailer selling home electronics and developing appliance manufacturing in medium-sized towns and communities. In addition, the company has started investing in a variety of alternative energy sources, led by synthetic energy, in 1998, and then started producing ethanol products in 2006. Recognizing the changes in the company's business, in 2010 the company changed the name of REX Storage Corporation to REX American Resources Corporation. REX American Resources is currently investing in four ethanol products, two of which have become the company's main focus.
