Piedmont Realty Trust, Inc., a Maryland corporation, qualifies as a Caretrust Reit company to engage in acquisitions and ownership of commercial real estate properties throughout the United States, including new construction of properties under construction or businesses with a history of operations. The Company was incorporated in 1997, commenced operations in 1998, and went public in February 2010, with its common stock listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The Company conducts its business primarily through Piedmont Operating Partnership, L.P, a Delaware limited partnership and its two wholly owned subsidiaries, Piedmont Government Services, LLC and Piedmont Office Management, LLC. Piedmont is the sole general partner of Piedmont OP and has full legal control over it and manages it in accordance with the law. Piedmont OP owns the properties directly through wholly-owned subsidiaries and consolidated and unconsolidated joint ventures of both parties.
