One of the largest billboard lessors is OUTFRONT Media Inc., which rents outdoor advertising formats and sites in the United States, Canada and Latin America. The company's portfolio consists primarily of advertising display boards, which are primarily located in densely populated large cities and along high-traffic highways and major commuter routes. In addition, the company has a number of exclusive multi-year contracts to operate advertising display boards in municipal transportation systems, where the company's customers are able to display advertisements to millions of commuters every day. The company already owns display boards in all the largest 25 markets in the United States, including some of the busiest places such as the San Francisco Bay Bridge, Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles and Grand Central Station and Times Square in New York City. The company believes that the location of many companies' advertising display boards has a strategic advantage over other forms of advertising. OUTFRONT Media Inc., incorporated in Maryland on June 20, 2013, applied for the company's initial articles of incorporation in Maryland.
