Northwest Natural Gas Company was founded in 1910 under the laws of the State of Oregon. However, since 1859, the company and its predecessors have provided natural gas services to the public. The company has been engaged in business activities under the name NW Natural since 1997. The Company maintains operations in Oregon, Washington and California and manages its operations through NW Natural and its subsidiaries. The Company has two core businesses: the business of regulating local natural gas distribution, referred to as public business, which serves residential, commercial and industrial customers located in the southwestern region of Oregon and Washington; and the natural gas storage business, referred to as gas storage business, which provides natural gas storage services for public facilities, natural gas markets, power plants and large industrial users in Oregon and California. In addition, the company also owns investment projects and other non-profit businesses.
