The company is principally engaged in the rail transportation of raw materials, intermediate products and finished products, mainly in the Southeast, East and Midwest, to and from the rest of the United States through exchange with rail transportation companies. The company also transports overseas cargo through several Atlantic and Gulf coast ports. The company offers the most extensive intermodal network in the eastern half of the United States.
