Founded in Maryland on May 16, 2013, National Storage Affiliates Trust is a fully integrated real estate investment trust focused on the self-storage industry. The Company conducts business as its operating partner subsidiary NSA OP, LP, the sole general partner of a Delaware limited partnership established on February 13, 2013, which focuses on the ownership, operation and acquisition of owned storage properties located within the top 100 metropolitan statistical regions in the United States. As of December 31, 2017, the company had a geographically diversified portfolio of 515 self-operated storage properties in 29 states, with approximately 32.1 million rentable square feet and approximately 255,000 storage units configured.
