Founded on March 19, 2003, Mechel PAO is one of the world's leading coal and steel producers. Mechel is a low-cost fully integrated mining and steel company focused on producing a variety of mining products such as coal, iron ore, nickel and steel products. The company's business consists of three parts: energy, mining and steel, including facilities in Russia, Romania and Lithuania. In addition, Machel owns two trading ports and a railway company. Mechel is one of the top seven metallurgical coal producers in the world and one of the top coking coal concentrate producers in Russia. The company controls more than a quarter of Russia's total coking coal cleaning facilities. Mechel is Russia's second-longest steel producer and the largest and most diversified producer of specialty steels and alloys in the country.
