M/I Homes, Inc., and affiliates are the nation's leading builders of single-family homes. The company took over the former company in 1973 and began residential construction activities in 1976. The company has two distinct operating and reporting divisions: residential construction and financial services. The residential construction business segment can be divided into three reporting segments — the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Southern regions of the United States. The Financial Services segment assists the residential construction business by providing mortgage loans and title services to customers who need the residential construction business. The company designs, promotes, builds and sells single-family homes, townhouses and condos for first-time buyers or customers with uncertain homes, as well as empty nesters and the wealthy, with a special focus on first-time buyers and value-conscious customers. These residences are mainly located in development communities and mixed-use communities.
