Kirby Corporation was founded in Nevada on January 31, 1969. The company is the largest oil barge operator in the country, transporting bulk liquid products throughout the Mississippi River system, the U.S. Atlantic Inshore Waterway Gulf, and three coastal harbors in Alaska and Hawaii. The company transports petrochemicals, black oil products, refined oil and agrochemicals on oil barges. The Company also owns and operates four offshore barge tugboat units transporting the trade of dry bulk commodities off the coast of the United States. Through the Diesel Engine Services Division, the Company distributes and services high-speed diesel engines and transmissions, pumps and compression products for marine and power generation applications of medium and high speed diesel engines, reduction gears, auxiliary products, and produces oilfield service equipment — including hydraulic fracturing equipment, surface pressure pumps and after-sales services for the oilfield service market.
