International Business Machines Corporation was incorporated in New York State on June 16, 1911, formerly known as Computing-Tabulating-Recording Co. (C-T-R), The Computing Scale Co. of America, The Tabulating Machine Co., and The International Time Recording Co. of New York were merged. Since then, IBM has focused on the intersection of business insight and technological innovation, and its operations and goals are international in nature. In 1924, C-T-R was renamed International Business Machines Corporation, marking the beginning of this trend and continuing to this day. Companies create value for customers by leveraging deep expertise in data, information technology, industry and business processes, as well as integrated solutions and products from a broad ecosystem of partners and alliances. IBM solutions often provide clients with new capabilities that create value, transform their businesses and help them interact with clients and employees in new ways. These solutions come from industry-leading consulting and IT implementation services, cloud and cognitive products, and enterprise systems and software portfolios, all supported by one of the world's leading research institutions.
