Founded in 1998 and completing its initial public offering in January 1999, Hersha Hospitality Trust is a self-advised Maryland Caretrust Reit. The company mainly invests in high-end hotels in the central business districts of the northeastern United States, Florida and the west coast, the main suburban office market, stable destinations and secondary markets. The company's main strategy is to continue to acquire high-quality, upscale, mid-size extended-stay hotels in the northeastern United States, Florida and other urban markets with similar characteristics where entry barriers are high.
