Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc., was incorporated in Delaware on August 4, 2010. The company is a global, field-wide defense partner that builds and delivers the world's most powerful and survivable naval ships and technologies to defend America's oceans, skies, land, space and networks. Most of the company's business is with the US government, mainly the Department of Defense (DoD). As a general contractor, major subcontractor, team member or partner, the company is involved in many high-priority U.S. defense programs. The Ingalls Shipbuilding division includes its non-nuclear ship design, construction, repair and maintenance business. The Newport News Shipbuilding Division includes all of its nuclear vessel design, construction, overhaul, refueling, and repair and maintenance operations. The company's Mission Technologies segment provides a wide range of services and products, including command, control, computer, communications, networking, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems and operations; applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning in battlefield decision-making; defense and offensive cyberspace strategy and electronic warfare; unmanned autonomous systems; field, virtual and constructive training solutions; fleet sustainment; and critical nuclear operations.
