Hudbay Minerals Inc., was formed on January 16, 1996 by Pan American Resources Inc and Marvas Developments Ltd. Pursuant to the Business Corporations Act (Ontario), And changed its name to Pan American Resources Inc. Hudbay Minerals is an integrated mining company that produces copper concentrates (containing copper, gold and silver) and zinc metals. With its assets in North and South America, the company focuses on the production and marketing of market-based precious metals. Hudbay Minerals also has a 70% stake in the Reed Copper Project near Snow Lake (Manitoba), which is currently under construction and is expected to enter production by the end of 2013 at the latest. Exploration in North and South America and minority investments in some junior exploration companies are part of its strategy. In addition, the Company owns and operates a portfolio of processing facilities in northern Manitoba, including Flin Flon ore concentrator, which produces zinc and copper concentrates, Snow Lake concentrator, which produces zinc and copper concentrates, and Flin Flon zinc plant, which produces high-grade zinc metals.
