Founded in 1901, Hanesbrands Inc., a Maryland corporation in 2005, was spun off from Sara Lee Corporation in 2006. Hanesbrands is a diversified global apparel company operating a range of profitable businesses. Their products are targeted at consumer sites in mass stores, mid-range and department stores, specialty stores and consumer-oriented channels (including retail stores they own), as well as e-commerce. Unlike most clothing companies, the Hans brand mainly operates its own production facilities. About 70 percent of the clothing they sell is made in their own factories or in the factories of professional contractors. With a long history of innovation, product excellence and brand recognition, they continue to leverage innovation to enhance strategies, integrate brand advantages, industry-leading innovation and low-cost global supply chains to provide higher value products while reducing production costs. Their label-free clothing platform, Comfort Flex-Fit clothing platform, ComfortBlend fabric platform, temperature-controlled X-Temp fabric platform, FreshIQ advanced deodorant technology fabric platform, SmoothTec fabric technology, cool and comfortable fabric technology and DreamWire underwire technology combine big creative innovations, Spanning brands, product categories, business units, retailers and distribution channels, and geographic locations.
