Goldman Sachs BDC, Inc., was incorporated on September 26, 2012 under the name Goldman Freeport Investments LLC, and commenced operations on November 15, 2012, using seed capital contributions obtained from group companies on March 29, 2013, the Company was elected as a BDC under the Investment Company Act. On April 1, 2013, the company was converted from a Delaware limited liability company to Goldman BDC, a Delaware corporation. Goldman Sachs Bdc, Inc., is a specialty finance company focused on lending to mid-market companies. Since the company was founded in 2012, it has previously had any subsequent export or repayment origination of more than 1.27 billion in total principal debt and equity investments. The Company seeks to generate current income and, to a lesser extent, funds originate directly through secured debt, including first lien, first lien/later unitranche and second lien bonds, unsecured bonds, including mezzanine debt, and to a lesser extent, investing in stocks.
