Gerdau S.A. is a Brazilian company incorporated under the laws of Brazil on November 20, 1961. The company is a listed company located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Gerdau S.A. and its affiliates manufacture and sell steel products in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela, the United States, Canada, Spain and India. The company began expanding its path more than a century ago and is one of the main players in the process of consolidating the global steel industry. The company mainly produces ordinary long steel, special steel and flat steel through the use of scrap steel and pig iron in the electric furnace production process, most of which are purchased from the operating area of each factory (equivalent to small rolling mills), and also from iron ore (steel produced through blast furnace and direct reduction). These products are mainly used in sectors such as civil construction, industry, automobiles and agriculture.
