Eaton Vance Floating-Rate Income Trust was established as a Massachusetts Business Trust on April 28, 2004. The Trust is a diversified, closed-end management investment company that commenced operations on June 29, 2004. The Trust provides investors with the opportunity to receive a high level of current income, through a professionally managed investment portfolio, primarily investing in senior secured floating rate loans (" Senior Loans "), which are generally only accessible to financial institutions and large corporations and institutional investors and are not widely available to individual investors. To the extent that this goal is met, trusts can also provide opportunities to protect capital.
