Dine Brands Global, Inc., was incorporated in 1976 under the laws of the State of Delaware as IHOP Corporation. On February 20, 2018, it was renamed Dine Brands Global, Inc. The Company and its subsidiaries own and franchise Applebee's Neighborhood Grill + Bar's full-service restaurant concept in the casual dining category of the U.S. restaurant industry, and own and franchise International Pancake House's mid-end full-service restaurant concept in the family dining category of the restaurant industry. As of Dec. 31, 2022, almost all of the company's 3,596 restaurants are franchised. The company believes that this highly franchised business model requires less capital investment and general and administrative expenses, generates higher gross profit margin, and reduces the volatility of adjusted free cash flow performance compared with the business model with a large number of company-run restaurants.
