Danaos Corporation, formerly known as Danaos Holdings Limited, was established under the laws of Liberia on December 7, 1998. The company is an international owner of container ships and dry bulk carriers, chartering container ships to many of the world's largest liner companies and employing dry bulk carriers for voyage charters. The company's strategy is to lease container ships to different groups of liner companies, including many of the world's largest companies, based on multi-year, fixed-rate charters, as measured by TEU capacity. As of February 28, 2024, these customers include CMA CGM, HMM, MSC, Yang Ming, Hapag-Lloyd, ZIM, Maersk, China Ocean Shipping, OOCL, ONE, PIL, Sealead, Niledutch, Samudera, OSC and Arkas.
