Comstock Resources, Inc. is a Nevada corporation engaged in the acquisition, development, production and oil and gas exploration. The company's oil and gas operations are concentrated in eastern Texas and northern Louisiana, southern Texas and western Texas. The company usually connects to third-party pipeline buyers through wells at prevailing market prices, selling oil and natural gas to them. It has entered into a number of transportation and processing agreements with midstream and pipeline companies to transport a large portion of natural gas production from the northern part of the state to the long-distance natural gas pipeline. The company sells its products in several different ways, depending on a number of factors, including the buyer's availability of the product, availability and pipeline costs for nearby wells, market prices, pipeline constraints and operational flexibility. Therefore, prices and demand for oil and gas are severely constraining earnings. Oil and gas prices have been volatile and are likely to remain so in the future.
