Founded in 1967, CNA Financial Corporation is an insurance holding company. The company mainly provides commercial property and casualty insurance — including guarantees — as well as warranty, risk management information services and claims management. Its products and services are distributed to a diverse customer base, including small, medium and large enterprises, insurance companies, associations, professionals and other groups through independent agents, retail and wholesale brokers and managed general underwriters. CNA conducts property and casualty business through foreign underwriting offices and centralized service centers throughout the United States, international operations in Canada, the United Kingdom, mainland Europe, and through Syndicate 382 at Lloyd's of London. The company operates in a highly competitive insurance market and organizes its business into five reporting divisions: professional, commercial, international, life and group, and corporate and other.
