Claros Mortgage Trust, Inc., was incorporated under the laws of the State of Maryland on April 29, 2015. The company is a CRE finance company focused on providing senior and subprime loans to transitional CRE assets located in major markets in the United States. Transitional CRE assets are properties that require repositioning, renovation, restoration, leasing, development or redevelopment or other value-added elements to maximize value. Their goal is to become a major provider of transitional CRE asset debt capital and in the process generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for shareholders primarily through dividends.
