Chimera Investment Corporation was established in Maryland on June 1, 2007 and began operations on November 21, 2007. The Company is a publicly traded Caretrust Reit primarily engaged in the business of investing directly in a diversified portfolio of mortgage assets or having beneficial interests in such assets as residential mortgage loans, agency RMBS, non-agency RMBS, agency CMBS, business purpose and investor loans, and real estate related assets. MBS and real estate related securities purchased by the Company may include investment grade, non-investment grade, non-rated categories.
