Citizens, Inc., was formed in 1969 by Chairman Harold E. Riley. Citizens, Inc., founded in Colorado and headquartered in Austin, Texas, is an insurance holding company. Since 1969, they have addressed the life insurance needs of the American people, and since 1975, they have expanded life insurance products to customers around the world. Through its international insurance subsidiaries, they provide insurance benefits to residents in more than 80 different countries and, through its US insurance subsidiaries, are licensed to distribute insurance products in 43 US states. They operate two business units, International Insurance and American Insurance.
