Banc of California, Inc., is a pure savings and lending holding company. The company was incorporated under Maryland law in March 2002 and houses all Pacific Trust Bank stock. As a savings and loan holding company, the company of First PACTRUST Bancorp must restrict its related activities in banking, securities, insurance and financial services. First PacTrust Bancorp is not an operating company, and its assets mainly include the bank's outstanding equity, cash and fixed income investments. The bank's main business includes absorbing real estate and commercial enterprise loans from the public and mainly owner-occupied retail deposits, one- to four-family residences, various consumer loans, multi-family and commercial first mortgage loans to invest in these funds. The company also invests in securities investments and other assets. The bank offers individuals and businesses a variety of deposit accounts with different interest rates and maturities, generally including savings accounts, money market deposits, certificate accounts and checking accounts. The bank solicits deposits in the market area and, to a lesser extent, from institutional depositors across the country. In the past, the bank also accepted entrusted investments.
