Alpha Metallurgical Resources, Inc., was incorporated in Delaware on June 10, 2016. The company is a large, diversified steam coal supplier with a global customer base. The company operates high-quality, cost-effective coal mines in three major coal seams in the United States, coupled with a strong trading and logistics business. The mining operation portfolio consists of six mining complexes consisting of nine underground mines, four surface mines and four coal preparation plants. In 2016, the company sold 4 million tonnes of coal at CAPP, NAPP and NAPP mines, and 41.1 million tonnes of steam coal at CAPP, NAPP and PRB mines. To complement the mining business, the Company operates a trading and logistics business focused on selling third-party coal to international markets.
