Founded in 1997 and established in Nevada in 2003, XPEL has grown from an automotive product design software company to a global supplier of automotive aftermarket products, including automotive surface and paint protection, headlight protection and automotive window films, as well as a supplier of complementary patented software. XPEL started out as a software company, designing car patterns for the production of car coating surfaces that fit protective films. In 2007, XPEL began selling automotive surface and paint protective film products to complement the software business. In 2011, XPEL launched the ULTIMATE protective film product line, which was the industry's first self-healing protective film at the time. ULTIMATE technology enables the protective film to better absorb the impact of rocks or other road debris, thereby fully protecting the painted surface of the vehicle.
