Umpqua Holdings Corporation is an Oregon corporation incorporated in March 1999 as a bank holding company. At that time, the company owned South Umpqua Bank, all outstanding stock, South Umpqua Bank, an Oregon-licensed bank established in 1953. In March 2000, Umpqua Bank became a financial holding company under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Umpqua has two major operating branches, Umpqua Bank and Umpqua Investments. Umpqua Bank provides a range of banking, wealth management, mortgage banking and other financial services to corporate, institutional and individual clients. Umpqua Investments is a registered brokerage and investment advisor that provides a range of investment products and services, including: stocks, fixed income bonds, mutual funds, annuities, options, retirement plans, money management services and life insurance.
