Sotherly Hotels Inc., established in August 2004, is a self-advised real estate investment trust that owns and manages full-service, top-scale mid-size hotels in primary and secondary markets in the mid-Atlantic, Midwest and Southeastern regions of the United States. The hotel operates under world-renowned international hotel brands such as Hilton, Crowne Plaza, Sheraton and Holiday Inn.
The company commenced operations on December 21, 2004 and completed an initial public offering, followed by the acquisition of six hotel properties. Almost all of the company's assets and operating rights are owned by Operating AG. The company's qualification as a real estate trust prevented him from running the hotel. Therefore, Operating Co., Ltd. leased it to MHI Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of MHI Hotels Co., Ltd. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Operating Co., Ltd.).
