SLR Investment Corp., incorporated in Maryland in November 2007, is a closed, externally managed, diversified investment company selected as a business development company under the Investment Company Act of 1940. In addition, for tax purposes, the company has been selected as a regulated investment company under a subchapter of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. The company mainly invests in mid-market companies in the United States because the company believes that major capital supply and investment opportunities are the most attractive. The company's investment objective is to generate current income and capital appreciation through debt and equity investments. The company invests primarily in leveraged middle market companies in the form of senior secured loans, mezzanine loans and equity securities. Occasionally, the company will invest in publicly traded companies with little trading volume. The company's business model focuses on the origin of investments through portfolio companies or their financial sponsorship.
