Silicom Ltd., is designing, manufacturing, marketing and supporting connectivity solutions for a range of servers and server-based systems. The company's first product was an integrated circuit for information technology manufacturers. In the early nineties, the company began to focus on designing, manufacturing, selling and supporting a range of connectivity solutions for mobile and PC users. In the following years, the company developed several broadband network related products. The company is currently active in the product line of high-end server network cards with and without bypass, which are described in more detail below. For the purpose of these products, the company uses its expertise in networking and operating systems and facilitates improved server connectivity by increasing the number of server adapter ports, and by adding special features such as bypass for security devices, WAN optimization devices and other network devices. Beginning in 2006, the company expanded its product line by adding smart and programmable cards such as encryption accelerator cards and redirection cards. The company has also added intelligent independent bypass units. In 2008, the company expanded the server adapter industry by adding products with multiple interfaces that use and do not use bypass 10 switched broadband (Gbps), the revenue of 10 switched broadband (Gbps) products is currently growing, and was incorporated under Israeli law in 1987.
