The Shyft Group, Inc., was incorporated in Michigan on September 18, 1975. The company is a leading engineering and manufacturer in the heavy duty, custom vehicle market. The company has five wholly-owned subsidiaries: Spartan Automotive Chassis Co., Ltd., headquartered in Charlotte, Michigan; Crimson Flame Co., Ltd., based in Brandon, Australia, South Dakota; Crimson Flame Antenna Co., based in Tafrata, Pennsylvania; Utilimaster, Inc., headquartered in Indiana; and Classic Fire Protection Co., Ltd., based in Ocala and acquired on April 1, 2011. Spartan Chassis is a leading designer, manufacturer and manufacturer of customized heavy-duty chassis. The chassis includes the frame assembly, engine, transmission, electrical system, transmission gear and chassis for fire trucks as well as some professional applications, cab. Spartan chassis customers are original equipment manufacturers who complete heavy vehicle production by installing chassis on themes and devices. Crimson purchases and installs a chassis from a Spartan Chassis Company or company. Crimson Antenna Engineering manufactures ladder assemblies for fire trucks. Classic Fire Protection Company designs and manufactures chassis that are installed on commercial chassis or brush cars at lower prices. The brush cars are mainly used for urban sections, cruise ships, and small rescues. Utilimaaster is a leading professional vehicle manufacturer and a leading manufacturer of truck bodies, including walk-in vans and high cube vans.
