Echostar Corporation was established in October 2007 and is a company organized under the laws of the State of Nevada. EchoStar Corporation is a holding company and its subsidiaries operate three divisions: EchoStar Technologies — primarily designs, develops and distributes digital set-top boxes and related products and technologies for satellite TV service providers, telecommunications and cable companies, including the Company's Slingbox "placeshifting" technology, in the case of Slingbox, Services are provided directly to consumers through retail outlets. EchoStar Technologies also provides digital broadcasting services, including satellite uplink/downlink, transmission services, signal processing, conditional access management and other services, mainly to DISH networks. ChoStar Satellite Services provides satellite service operations and video delivery solutions using certain in-orbit satellites and related licenses owned and leased by the company, primarily to DISH Networks, DISH Mexico, U.S. government service providers, Internet service providers, broadcast news organizations, programmers and private enterprise customers.
