Power Integrations, Inc., was incorporated in California on March 25, 1988 and re-incorporated in Delaware in December 1997. The company designs, develops and sells electronic components such as analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs) and circuits for high-voltage power conversion. The Company's products are used in power converters to convert power from high-voltage power sources (usually 48 volts or higher) required to specify the type of power source used downstream. In most cases, this conversion is included in other functions, transforming alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) or vice versa, reducing or increasing the voltage and adjusting the output voltage or current according to the customer's specifications. The company's products account for a large proportion of the AC-DC power supply, which converts high-voltage AC power from sockets to the low-voltage DC power required by most electronic devices. The power supply combines all the electronic products used by the company, including mobile phones, computers, entertainment and network equipment, household appliances, electronic meters, industrial controls and LED lights.
