The company is principally engaged in the operation and development of autonomous vehicles.
Pony Zhixing was incorporated in the Cayman Islands on November 4, 2016. Pony is a leader in realizing the large-scale commercialization of autonomous driving mobility, and is (i) the only autonomous driving technology company to obtain all the available and required regulatory licenses to provide autonomous driving services to the public in four first-tier cities as of the Last Practicable Date, operating a fleet of more than 680 self-owned autonomous taxis as of the same date; and (ii) the first in China to be approved for driverless driving on inter-provincial highways in December 2024 The company that tests the formation of self-driving trucks operates a fleet of more than 170 self-owned and leased self-driving trucks as of October 21, 2025. In late 2018, the company became the first L4 self-driving technology company to launch self-driving mobility services in China, several months earlier than its peers. The self-driving travel service provided by the company enables passengers to ride in driverless vehicles powered by the company's proprietary 'virtual driver' technology by means of instant vehicle reservation. According to Frost & Sullivan, the Company is one of the first companies in China to obtain licenses to operate fully driverless L4 self-driving taxis in designated areas of four first-tier cities, and is the only self-driving technology company to obtain all available and required regulatory licenses to provide autonomous driving services to the public (including toll and non-toll) in these cities, and as of the Latest Practicable Date, the Company's peers have not yet obtained all relevant licenses in these cities License. In addition, the company is also the first company in China to receive regulatory approval in December 2024 to conduct unmanned self-driving truck formation testing on inter-provincial highways.
