PENN Entertainment, Inc., is a leading diversified, cross-jurisdictional owner and manager of gaming and pot properties. The company was founded in Pennsylvania in 1982 as PNRC Corporation, and changed its name to Penn National Gaming Corporation and went public in 1994. In 1997, the company began its transition from a pot company to a diversified gaming company by acquiring Charles Town's business and introducing video lottery terminals in West Virginia. Since 1997, the company has continued to expand its gaming business through strategic acquisitions, new projects and property expansions. The company changed its name to PENN Entertainment, Inc. on August 5, 2022.
