Old Second Bancorp, Inc., was incorporated in Delaware on September 8, 1981 as a bank holding company incorporated under the Bank Corporation Act of 1956. The company provides financial services through its Illinois-based Cook, Kane, Kendall, DeKalb, DuPage, LaSalle, and Will. The company's main deposit products are checking services, NOW, money market, savings and deposit account certificates, and its main loan products are commercial mortgages, construction loans, commercial loans, home mortgages, and installment loans. Loans are mainly secured by various forms of collateral, including real estate, business assets, and consumer property, but the borrower's cash flow is usually the main source of repayment. The bank is also engaged in trust business, which includes wealth management and investment advisory services, and provides residential mortgage banking and treasury operations services to corporate clients. However, a client's ability to repay a loan depends on the Chicago-area real estate market and overall economic conditions.
