Old Point Financial Corporation was incorporated under the laws of the State of Virginia on February 16, 1984 to acquire all outstanding common stock of Old Point National Bank. At the annual general meeting on March 27, 1984, the business was approved by a shareholder vote. On October 1, 1984, the bank merged into a newly formed National Bank, which became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, and the bank was converted into five common shares, each with an outstanding share. The Bank was established in 1922 as a bank of the National Association of Banks. Provides a complete range of consumption for personal and corporate clients, including mortgage and commercial banking, lending, deposit and cash management services.
