Universal Display Corporation was established in 1985 under the laws of Pennsylvania. General Display Partners, LLC is a leader in the research, development and commercialization of organic light-emitting diode technologies and materials. Organic light-emitting diodes are thin, high-power solid-state light-emitting devices that are ideal for use in full-color displays and lighting products. OLED displays have gained more and more in the flat panel display market. The company believes that this is due to the competitiveness brought by the potential advantages of organic light-emitting diode display technology in terms of contrast, viewing angle, video response time, form factor and manufacturing cost. The company also believes that OLED lighting products must replace many existing light sources in the future due to their high efficiency, good color rendering performance, low operating temperature and novel form factors. The company's leadership position in OLED display technology and intellectual property enables the company's stock to profit and its lighting products to enter the mainstream consumption market and other markets. The main business strategies of General Display Company are: (1) Further develop and license manufacturers to use their proprietary OLED technology for display applications, such as mobile phones, portable media devices, tablet computers, Notebook computers and TVs, as well as professional and general lighting products; (2) development and sales of new OLED materials.
