On October 26, 2010, the Company acquired INVIVO Therapeutics, a company established in 2005, and continued the existing business operations of INVIVO Therapeutics. The company changed its name to INVIVO Therapeutics Holdings in connection with the transaction. INVIVO Therapeutics Holdings LLC is a research and clinical stage biomaterials and biotechnology company focused on the treatment of spinal cord injury. The Company's patented technology incorporates intellectual property rights from exclusive, worldwide licenses and technologies from Boston Children's Hospital (" BCH "), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (" MIT "), and intellectual property rights have been developed internally, including collaborations with the Company's advisors and partners. The company intends to use its platform technology to develop a new type of neurospinal scaffold, which is designed for spinal cord contusion implanted in the injury site and for the treatment of acute spinal cord injury, spinal cord injury or a research bioabsorbable polymer scaffold.
