Nano-x Imaging Ltd was established on December 20, 2018 under the laws of the State of Israel. As a first step in producing new affordable medical imaging systems, the company focuses on identifying and developing new X-ray sources. The company's X-ray source is based on a new type of digital MEMs semiconductor cathode, which it believes can achieve the same functions as traditional X-ray analog cathodes while achieving lower production costs than existing medical imaging systems. The company developed this technology over eight years for commercial applications.
