Lattice Semiconductor Corporation designs, develops and sells programmable logic products and related software. The company was incorporated in Oregon in 1983 and re-incorporated in Delaware in 1985. Programmable logic products are widely used in semiconductor components and can be configured by the specific logic circuit of the end customer, thereby achieving a shorter design cycle and reducing development costs. The company's end customers are mainly original equipment manufacturers in the communications, computing, consumer, industrial, military, automotive and medical end markets.
The company does not manufacture silicon wafers on its own, and several large semiconductor manufacturers in Asia maintain strategic partnerships with the company to supply silicon wafers to the company. In addition, all of the company's assembly operations and most of its testing operations are provided by suppliers outside of Asia. The company performs specific test operations, internal reliability and quality assurance processes.
