Lifecore Biomedical, Inc., was incorporated in California on October 31, 1986 and re-registered as a Delaware corporation on November 6, 2008. The company and its subsidiaries design, develop, manufacture and sell differentiated products for the food and biomaterials markets and license technology applications to partners. The company has grown to become a leading producer of pharmaceutical-grade non-animal-derived hyaluronic acid (HA) in the United States, using a proprietary fermentation process it developed in 1981. Lifecore manufactures bulk hyaluronic acid, as well as syringes and ampoules for the formulation and filling of injections, which are used to treat a variety of diseases including ophthalmology and orthopedics. In addition, Lifecore has applied its expertise in HA production to work with customers to create high-viscosity non-HA-based sterile injection products for a variety of applications.
