Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc., was formed in Delaware in 1999 by the merger of its two predecessors. The company helps its clients develop leadership teams by facilitating the recruitment, management and deployment of senior executives. With its focus on top-level services, the company has the following advantages, including proximity to and influence key decision makers, the potential to increase recurring search and consulting activities, higher fees per search, higher brand awareness, and a global footprint operating with debt. These all create additional obstacles for potential competitors. Working at the top of the client organization also enables it to attract and retain high-level consultants. The headhunting industry is highly fragmented, with thousands of headhunting companies operating worldwide. Headhunting companies are generally divided into two categories: retention and emergency. Retain headhunters to meet clients' senior leadership needs by identifying potentially qualified candidates and assisting clients in evaluating and evaluating these candidates. Retention The headhunter usually charges a fee for its services, regardless of whether the client adopts a candidate identified by the headhunter, and usually retains talent on an exclusive basis. Retention headhunters usually charge a fee for their services, about a third of the total compensation for the first year of the open position. In contrast, emergency headhunters only charge a fee after successfully recommending a candidate.
