Home Bancorp, Inc., a Louisiana corporation, became the holding company of Home Bank in October 2008 after the stock was acquired by both parties. Home Bank is a federally chartered community savings bank originally established in 1908 and headquartered in Lafayette, Louisiana. The bank is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company and currently operates through 30 banking offices in Lafayette, New Orleans, and the north shore of Oahu south of Isla Ana. Banks are mainly engaged in attracting public deposits and using these funds to invest in loans and securities. The Company's main sources of funding are customer deposits, loan repayments, repayment of investments and borrowing of funds from external resources, such as the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) in Dallas. These funds are mainly used for loan origination, including one- to four-family residential mortgage loans, home equity loans, commercial real estate loans, construction and land loans, multi-family residential loans, commercial and industrial loans, and consumer loans. Bank income is mainly derived from loan interest and investment securities, and to a lesser extent, from loan repayment service fees, deposit account service fees and other services. The main expenses of the bank are the deposit interest rate fee, the interest fee of borrowing and general operating expenses.
