Founded in Delaware in 1999, First US Bancshares, Inc., is a successor company formed after the merger with United Security Bancshares, Inc. Bancshares is a bank holding company incorporated under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956, as amended, and also operates a banking subsidiary, First United Security Bank. The Bank operates general commercial banking and provides banking services such as demand acceptance, savings, individual retirement accounts, time deposits, personal and business loans, safe deposit box services and remote deposit collection. The company has two wholly-owned subsidiaries: Acceptance Loan Company, Inc and FUSB Reinsurance, Inc. ALC serves customers with a variety of consumer loan needs that extend from small unsecured loans to mortgages. ALC's loan guidelines are based on an established company policy that is regularly reviewed by the loan committee. FUSB Reinsurance is an Arizona company that underwrites credit life insurance, credit risk and health insurance sold to banks or ALC consumer loan customers. FUSB Reinsurance is responsible for the first-level risks listed in these risks, the liability amount reaches a fixed maximum value, and the main third-party insurer is responsible for the remaining risk compensation.
