The First Of Long Island Corporation is a single bank holding company incorporated under the laws of the State of New York on February 7, 1984. The bank was established in 1927 under the laws of the National Bank and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company under a reorganization plan on April 30, 1984. The bank is a full-service commercial bank that provides a wide range of financial services to individuals, professionals, corporations, institutions and government departments through a system of branches in Long Island and Manhattan. Long Island First Agency Co., Ltd., which handles business as a subsidiary of this bank, acts as a practicing insurance agent, engaged in mutual fund and insurance sales, the main fixed annuity products. The bank is affiliated with the Federal Reserve Board, the U.S. Monetary Supervisory Board, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which ensures the safety of bank deposits. The U.S. Monetary Supervisor is the primary banking institution and is responsible for the management of affiliated banks. In addition, the company is also regulated and supervised by the Federal Reserve Commission and the Securities And Exchange Commission.
